SYNOPSIS
Two teams of aspiring thieves infiltrate a prestigious museum with just ten minutes to complete their mission. Guided remotely by their respective leaders, they must navigate security guards, laser systems, motion-sensing drones and a series of cryptic clues leading them through the museum’s exhibits. As the teams race through the building, their rivalry grows, with each group repeatedly crossing paths and exchanging playful insults while collecting artefacts connected to the history of science.
When the clues eventually bring both teams together in a mysterious new exhibition, they discover that the stolen objects are pieces of a larger puzzle. Using an Edison light bulb, Newton’s prism, Galileo’s glasses and a magnifying glass, they reveal a hidden message: CONGRATULATIONS! The lights come on and the curtains open to reveal their team leaders and a crowd of formally dressed guests. The entire heist was an elaborate initiation challenge for the History of Science Society. As the new members celebrate, one final detail brings the ten-minute countdown to zero.
Writer's journal
This took me 2.5 hours to plan along with the riddles, and some scribbled floor plan to keep track of the characters. It took me another 4 hours and 55 minutes to write it and edit it (which only took around 30 minutes in that). And finally making the poster and upload to all the sites. 7.5 hrs total. I really enjoyed the outcome of this one, I was so unsure to begin with, especially when I got the constraint!
